Riders

Are there any fees?


Setting up an account is completely free, and there is no subscription fee, However, we add a 20% booking fee when you pay your driver in order to cover our costs. Keep an eye out for promotions!




What is the cancellation policy?


You can cancel up to 24 hours from the journey time, and you will receive a refund minus the transaction fee. You cannot cancel a booking within 24 hours of the journey. If your driver cancels, we'll give you a full refund, including any booking fees you paid.




What if i'm running late?


We encourage the driver to wait up to 15 minutes for all the passengers to arrive. Its' up to them wether they would like to do this or not, as they have the right to leave at the stated departure time. If a rider doesnt show up, we'll still pay the driver and you'll lose your booking, because its not fair to keep waiting. Make sure to keep the driver updated using our group chat feature, to see how flexible things are.




What if my driver is running late?


We encourage everyone to update everyone on the trip through the in-app group messaging feature, to see how flexible the group is. Traffic can be tough, so please bear with them. If your driver is exceptionally late, please report them to us and we will take steps to limit their account.





Drivers

I want to drive with ARKABS, do I need to tell my insurance company?


Nope! As long as you have at least the legal minimum of third party insurance on your car, you're safe to go. No need to tell your insurer.




Do I need to declare the money I make to HMRC?


Nope! No need to worry about that, since we follow the governments guidelines on price per mile, you aren't tachnically making a taxable profit, just covering fuel costs.




What if i'm running late?


Make sure to keep the riders updated using our group chat feature on the app. See how flexible things are before cancelling. If we receive many reports of lateness from riders, we can limit the number of trips you can post and make money off of.




What is the cancellation policy?


You can cancel your trip at any time, but try to be nice and notify your riders in advance. Be careful though, cancel too many times and we could limit the trips you can post and make money off of.




What if somebody is misbehaving in my car?


We have a zero tolerance policy toward abuse, and will take immediate action to report any action to their university, as well as limiting their use of the app and locking their account. You can open the app at anytime (as long as you're not driving!) and report any driver to us, as well as leavea bad rating to them afterwards.
